2002.09.10 Snowball (#) Snowball is a generator for algorithmic stemmers (in the sense that yacc is a generator for LALR state machine parsers). Algorithmic stemmers are used to reduce different forms of a word ("swimming", "swims", "swim", "swam") into a single root to improve text processing and search in particular. Snowball includes stemmers for a variety of natural languages. |
